Uzbekistan may play Salah-led Egypt

A friendly tournament featuring the national teams of Uzbekistan, Iran, Cape Verde, and Egypt may be organized during the international break in November this year, Shorouk News has reported.

According to the source, the Egyptian Football Association is close to finalizing an agreement for the national team’s participation in an international friendly tournament during next month’s FIFA days as part of preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco in December.

In the first matches of the planned tournament, Uzbekistan is expected to face Egypt, while Iran will play against Cape Verde. The winners of these matches will then meet in the final of the mini-tournament.

The venue and exact dates of the tournament have not yet been determined, and the Football Association of Uzbekistan has not issued an official statement regarding the event.

For reference, the national teams of Uzbekistan and Egypt have never faced each other before.
