Uzbekistan submits joint bid to host 2031 Asian Cup

On April 11, the sixth meeting of the AFC Executive Committee was held ahead of the 35th Congress of the Asian Football Confederation, during which the list of countries that have submitted bids to host the 2031 AFC Asian Cup was announced. This information was reported by the press service of the Uzbekistan Football Association.

According to the source, the Asian Football Confederation has received applications from seven candidates to host the tournament. AFC President Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa described the interest as the highest in the history of the competition.

“The record number of applications received once again confirms the prestige of this tournament. On behalf of the AFC Executive Committee, I would like to express my deep gratitude to all our member associations,” said the AFC President.

The AFC has accepted applications from the following member associations to host the continental championship, with the bidding process open until March 31, 2025:

- Australia  
- India  
- Indonesia  
- South Korea  
- Kuwait  
- United Arab Emirates  
- A joint bid from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic  

The AFC will now proceed with the process of preparing and reviewing bid documents, in accordance with the timeline and requirements agreed upon with the candidate associations.

Additionally, during the meeting, the AFC Executive Committee approved the decisions of all its committees, including the AFC Asian Cup Organizing Committee, the AFC Finance Committee, the AFC Competitions Committee, and the AFC Professional Football Committee.
