11423The talks between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi took place in the "Al-Ittihadiya" palace in Cairo. This was reported by the Press Service under the President’s Administration.
The presidents discussed in detail the issues of further development of Uzbekistan-Egypt cooperation and agreed to bring mutual relations to the level of comprehensive partnership.
The issues of fundamental expansion of cooperation in the fields of politics, security, trade, and industrial cooperation and the strengthening of cultural, humanitarian, and educational ties were the main topics of the negotiations.
The presidents noted that the reforms implemented within the framework of Egypt's "Nazar-2030" strategic plan and the development strategy of New Uzbekistan are compatible with each other.
The parties expressed their interest in exchanging experience in combating corruption, modern threats, and threats in the field of security, and supporting international initiatives to stabilize and restore Afghanistan.
At the meeting, it was agreed to create favorable conditions for attracting mutual investments. Based on the fact that the economies of the two countries complement each other, cooperation measures were determined in five specific areas - in the gas-chemical, textile, electrical engineering, jewelry, and pharmaceutical industries.
It was proposed to use the opportunities of free economic zones in Uzbekistan in order to develop industrial cooperation and establish highly profitable joint productions.
Implementation of joint projects in the field of energy, as well as measures for the development of transport corridors connecting Uzbekistan and Egypt, were also discussed.
The importance of developing cultural-humanitarian and religious relations was noted. An agreement was reached on the development of cooperation in the field of training Arabic language specialists. The President of Uzbekistan put forward the initiative to jointly hold the Global Forum of Arab Studies in 2024.
At the end of the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to visit Uzbekistan.
