Which products does Uzbekistan buy the most from abroad?

Uzbekistan imported $513 million worth of wheat from abroad between January and September. Grain is the leader among imported products.  This was reported by the State Statistics Committee.

In the past nine months of this year, wheat, sugar cane, margarine products, beef, and vegetable oil were among the leaders in the import of food products to Uzbekistan.

The value of certain types of food products imported to Uzbekistan between January-September 2022:

• Wheat - 513 mln. to US dollars
• Sugarcane - 351 mln. to US dollars
• Margarine products - 204 mln. to US dollars
• Beef - 163 mln. to US dollars
• Vegetable oil - 160 mln. to US dollars
• Wheat flour - 95 mln. to US dollars
• Cocoa and chocolate - 86 mln. to US dollars
• Potatoes - 60 mln. to US dollars
• Dairy products - 60 mln. to US dollars
• Food products for children - 55 mln. to US dollars
• Banana - 40 mln. to US dollars
• Tea - 34 mln. to US dollars
• Poultry meat - 33 mln. to US dollars
• Maize - 24 mln. to US dollars
• Coffee - 23 mln. to US dollars
• Confectionery products - 21 mln. to US dollars

According to the State Statistics Committee, the countries with a high share of food imports between January-September 2022 are:

• Kazakhstan - 36.2%;
• Russia – 24%;
• Brazil – 14.7%;
• Belarus – 4.3%;
• Pakistan – 2.2%;
• Ecuador – 1.6%;
• China – 1.6%;
• Turkey – 1.4%;
• India – 1.2%;
• Malaysia – 1%;
• Other countries – 11.8%
