Member of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, People's Poet of Uzbekistan Jamol Kamol died at the age of 84.

Jamol Kamol was born in 1938 in Shafirkon district of Bukhara region.

Between 1991-1996, he chaired the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan.  Jamol Kamol wrote more than ten collections of poetry and "Jamila", "Stone sense ", "Moon wave at the door", "Dream", "Varaksha", "Hasan and the Moon", "The Saga of Rajab Ashurov" ", " The Sun of spring", "Shakhribonu", author of epics, author of many topical articles on various problems of society, publicist, writer.

The publication of a 6-volume selection of works by Jamol Kamol in 2019 was a bright event in the history of Uzbek literature.  Jamol Kamol is a well-known literary scholar, candidate of philological sciences, one of the co-authors of the two-volume "Theory of Literature" and the two-volume "History of Uzbek Literary Criticism" academic books.  He has scientific treatises entitled "Lyric Poetry" and "Historical Drama".

During his creative career, he skillfully translated the works of Rumi, Shakespeare, Pushkin and other famous writers into Uzbek.
