23869People's Artist of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Karakalpakstan Bobomurod Hamdamov has passed away at the age of 84, according to a report by the Ministry of Culture.
"Bobomurod Hamdamov made a significant contribution to the development of Uzbek national singing art, creating several immortal works that won the applause of audiences. His songs, such as 'Sultan Jalaluddin,' 'Kim Ekan,' 'Devona,' 'Galdimu,' and 'Qorqdim,' became popular and secured a cherished place in the hearts of the people.
Bobomurod Hamdamov was a distinguished follower of the great hafiz Komiljon Otaniyozov. His songs and works are included in the 'golden fund' of Uzbek art, and his bright memory will forever remain in the hearts of his fans.
For information, Bobomurod Hamdamov was born in 1940 in Charjoi, Turkmenistan. He primarily performed folk songs in four languages: Uzbek, Turkmen, Tajik, and Hindi. After graduating from high school, he completed a short training course for crane operators and began working in construction. However, due to his passion for singing, he initially performed Indian songs and later worked in Komiljon Otaniyozov's ensemble in Tashkent."
