Uzbekistan and Kuwait strengthen ties across key sectors

On February 17, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mish'al Al-Sabah, held negotiations in Kuwait City, concluding with the adoption of a joint statement on enhancing comprehensive partnership relations between the two countries.

Following the high-level talks, several key agreements were signed:

  • Agreement on cooperation in the industrial sector;
  • Protocol to the Agreement on Air Transport;
  • Agreement on cooperation in the labor sector;
  • Agreement on collaboration in developing "smart" cities;
  • Agreement on cooperation in arts and culture;
  • Agreement on cooperation in healthcare;
  • Tourism development program for 2025-2027;
  • Agreement with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.

Earlier in the day, Mirziyoyev and Al-Sabah held a private meeting at Al-Bayan Palace, followed by discussions with official delegations. The leaders addressed ways to strengthen friendly relations and expand multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kuwait.
