As a result of joint operations conducted by the Interior Ministries of Turkey and Uzbekistan, a person known by the alias ’’Sonya,’’ who was wanted on charges of human trafficking, has been deported to Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.
According to the report, the detainee, identified as R.S., born in 1974, was accused of actively participating in a criminal group between 2013 and 2015. The group allegedly organized a brothel in Bangkok and deceived Uzbek women with promises of high-paying jobs, transporting them via Kazakhstan to Thailand, where they were forced into prostitution.
The victims of the individual’s unlawful activities have been urged to contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan or its subordinate agencies, as well as the Consulate General in Istanbul.
At the same time, in light of the growing number of fraud-related complaints in recent months, citizens have been cautioned to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters.
It is worth noting that earlier, citizens who had been placed on an international wanted list through Interpol were extradited from the US and Poland to Uzbekistan. Upon arrival at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov, they were met by officers of the Interpol National Central Bureau and the country’s internal affairs bodies, to be handed over to law enforcement authorities and brought to justice for the crimes committed.
