China and Russia were Uzbekistan’s leading import partners in January–August 2025. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.

According to the report, Uzbekistan’s total import volume during this period reached $28.5 billion, an increase of 11.8% compared to the same period last year. The country imported various goods and services from more than 170 countries.

China ranked first in terms of import volume, supplying Uzbekistan with products worth $8.5 billion. Russia followed with $5.4 billion, while Kazakhstan took third place with $2.1 billion.

Other major import partners included Turkey ($1.2 billion), the Republic of Korea ($1.1 billion), Germany ($774 million), India ($734.3 million), Turkmenistan ($581.6 million), Belarus ($478.5 million), and the United States ($416.3 million). Imports from other countries amounted to a total of $7.2 billion.

It is worth noting that earlier reports noted an increase in the volume of goods imported by Central Asian countries from the Persian Gulf. Last year, mutual trade between the region and the Gulf states amounted to $3.3 billion. Trade volume with five Central Asian countries — Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia — increased by 4.2 times compared to 2020.
