Uzbekistan extends condolences to Qatar

Earlier, it was reported that three members of the Qatari delegation participating in negotiations on the situation in Gaza died in a traffic accident in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh. Following the incident, Uzbekistan sent condolences to Qatar. This was announced by Ahror Burhonov, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

According to him, official Tashkent received with deep sorrow the news that three staff members of the Amiri Diwan of Qatar tragically died in the accident. The statement expressed condolences to the government and people of Qatar, as well as to the families and relatives of the victims.

“We express our deepest condolences to the government and people of Qatar, as well as to the families and relatives of those who lost their lives. We wish a speedy recovery to those injured in the incident,” the ministry’s spokesperson wrote.

For reference, the accident occurred on October 11. According to the Associated Press, the diplomats were members of Qatar’s protocol team. Their names were Abdullah bin Ghanim Al-Khayarin, Hassan Al-Jabir, and Saud bin Tamer Al-Thani. Three others were injured and taken to the intensive care unit of Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital. Egyptian journalist Amr Adib also reported on the MBC Egypt TV program “Al-Hekaya” that the incident occurred about 50 kilometers from Sharm El-Sheikh.
