Uzbekistan has risen to 69th place out of 127 countries in the global IQ (Intelligence Quotient) ranking, according to a report published by the International IQ Registry.

The report reflects average IQ scores by country as of January 1, 2025, based on data from 1,393,066 individuals who took the same test worldwide in 2024.

A total of 8,986 people from Uzbekistan participated in the test, scoring 2.17 points higher on average compared to 7,033 participants in 2023. As a result, Uzbekistan secured 69th place in the ranking.

Central Asian countries' rankings are as follows:
- Kazakhstan – 97.27 (66th place)
- Uzbekistan – 96.98 (69th place)
- Kyrgyzstan – 95 (84th place)
- Tajikistan – 93.75 (96th place)
No data on Turkmenistan is available.

The report highlights regional differences in IQ levels globally. East Asian countries generally report the highest average IQ levels. In contrast, countries in Europe, West Asia, Oceania, North America, and North Africa show average scores, while Central and Southern Africa, along with Latin America, typically report below-average results.

Gabon ranks lowest with an average IQ of 85.56.

The report emphasizes that countries with advanced healthcare systems, proper nutrition, and strong support for intellectual activity tend to have higher IQ levels. While genetics lay the foundation for intellectual development, a supportive environment helps individuals reach their full potential.

Global average IQ scores continue to rise. For instance, a 2014 study found that IQ increases by 2.31 points per decade – a phenomenon known as the Flynn effect. International IQ test algorithms are regularly adjusted to reflect this trend, keeping the global average at 100.
