Uzbekistan signs cooperation program with the United Nations

Uzbekistan and the United Nations have signed a new Cooperation Program for 2026–2030. The signing ceremony took place on October 24 at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent.

The program was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov and UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Sabine Mahl.

The document aims to promote sustainable development, reduce inequality, and ensure equal opportunities for all citizens. Over the next five years, the program will define the priority areas of cooperation for 25 UN agencies, funds, and programs supporting Uzbekistan’s national development goals.

The new program covers six key areas:

  •  Effective governance and justice
  •  Decent living standards and social protection
  •  Health and well-being
  •  Inclusive education
  •  Climate and environmental sustainability
  •  Comprehensive development of the Aral Sea region
