The number of countries that have established diplomatic relations with Uzbekistan reaches 142

Yesterday on 10 October, the Joint Agreement on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana was signed in New York.  This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On behalf of the governments of the two countries, the document was signed by the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN Bakhtiyor Ibrohimov, and the Permanent Representative of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana to the UN Caroline Rodriguez Birket.

The parties confirmed that they are interested in strengthening cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including the UN and its specialized institutions.  An agreement was reached to continue bilateral relations in search of mutually beneficial areas of cooperation.

The signing of the document was an important step towards expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and South American countries.

The Cooperative Republic of Guyana became the 142nd country to establish diplomatic relations with Uzbekistan.
