An Uzbek woman who took part in the “Miss Earth 2025” beauty pageant wearing an outfit in the colors of Uzbekistan’s national flag has been fined. QALAMPIR.UZ reviewed the relevant court ruling.

According to the document, on October 28, 2025, M.Sh. participated in the “Miss Earth 2025” beauty pageant, which has been held worldwide for 25 years, in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. She appeared wearing an outfit featuring the national flag and the state emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan. She also posed for photographs in the outfit and posted them on her Instagram account.

On January 19, the case was considered by the Mirabad District Criminal Court of Tashkent. During the hearing, M.Sh. partially admitted her guilt, stating that she had indeed taken part in the “Miss Earth 2025” pageant and had commissioned the outfit inspired by the national flag and state emblem of Uzbekistan. She asked the court to show leniency.

The court found M.Sh. guilty of committing an offense under Article 203-1, Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, which concerns violations of legislation on state symbols. She was fined an amount equal to twice the base calculation value, totaling 824,000 soums.
