Uzbekistan’s population approaches 38 million

As of July 1, 2025, Uzbekistan’s permanent population reached approximately 37,859,698 people. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.

The figure marks a 2% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

According to the data:

• The number of women: 18.8 million
•  The number of men: 19.1 million
•  Urban population: 19.3 million
•  Rural population: 18.6 million

According to the "World Population Review", India currently holds the top position globally with a population of 1.463 billion people, followed by China with 1.416 billion. The United States ranks third with a permanent population of 347 million. Uzbekistan is ranked 43rd on the global population list.

It is worth recalling that earlier reports indicated that Tashkent city leads the regions of Uzbekistan in terms of life expectancy at birth. In the capital, the average life expectancy stands at 76.8 years.
