45706On November 19, the government of Uzbekistan officially resigned, as announced by the Prime Minister’s press secretary, Bekzod Khidoyatov.
This development follows the parliamentary elections held on October 27, which led to the formation of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis in their new composition.
According to Article 116 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Article 7 of the Law “On the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” the Cabinet of Ministers is required to resign before the newly elected Oliy Majlis.
“In line with this provision, on November 19, the current government resigned its powers before the newly elected Oliy Majlis,” the official report stated.
To ensure continuity and effective governance during the transition, a presidential decree has mandated that the outgoing Cabinet of Ministers will continue to perform its duties until a new cabinet is formed. This measure aims to maintain stability and coherence in government operations.
