On 6 May, a solemn evening devoted to the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan was held at the Palace of International Forums «Uzbekistan». The Speaker of the Senate of Oliy Majlis (Parliament) Tanzila Norbayeva, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, Advisor to the President Abdujabbor Abduvokhidov, Minister of Sports Development Adham Ikramov, governance staff of Olympic Council of Asia, and the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, the representatives of the International Olympic Committee and many of international sports organizations participated in the meeting.
At the beginning of the event, the press secretary of the president’s administration Sherzod Asadov read out a congratulatory message from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to members of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan and the Olympic Movement.
At the ceremony, the federations, associations and athletes were awarded in the following categories for their contribution to the popularization of Uzbek sport in the world for 30 years:
“The federation that won the most medals at the Olympic Games” – Uzbekistan Boxing Federation
“The federation that has trained Olympic record holders”– Uzbekistan Weightlifting Federation.
The best athlete of Uzbekistan on the base of each decade:
1. Mirjalol Kosimov (1991-2001)
2. Abdulla Tangriyev (2001-2011)
3. Oksana Chusovitina (2011-2021)

«The most award-winning coach of 30 years» – Marat Kurbanov
«The association that won medals regularly for 30 years» – Uzbekistan Sports Wrestling Association
«For his contribution to the popularization of Uzbek sport around the world» – Ravshan Irmatov
The most famous team of the 30th anniversary – Uzbekistan national football team in 1994.
«First medal at the Summer Olympics» - Armen Bagdasarov
