Director appointed to Uzbek national maqom art center

Farrukh Yunusov has been appointed director of the Uzbek national maqom art center by the order of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Culture reported.

It was stated that the decision was announced at a meeting led by the first deputy Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Bakhodir Akhmedov. The meeting was attended by employees of the Center’s main office as well as the creative team of the Yunus Rajabi maqom ensemble.

During the meeting, Bakhodir Akhmedov congratulated Farrukh Yunusov and emphasized the importance of introducing new initiatives and practical approaches in the field of maqom art. He also gave instructions on implementing systematic projects to further promote national art.

Farrukh Yunusov has previously worked in various institutions under the Ministry of Culture, including the state institution “Uzbekconcert” and the central office of the Ministry in creative and organizational positions. In particular, he has promoted initiatives related to working with young artists, developing international cultural relations, and planning and organizing competitions. Before his appointment, he served as Head of the department for work with creative youth at the Ministry of Culture.

It is worth noting that earlier, Alibek Kabdurakhmonov was appointed director of the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Uzbekistan.
