A special corridor has been created in commercial banks of Uzbekistan for the exchange of Russian rubles.

Today, as of March 7, rubles are bought in banks at 70-90 sums, and sold at 100-150 rubles.

Last week, Uzbek banks introduced a corridor for the exchange of rubles. This provoked protests from public activists.
The experts expressed concern that the creation of a special corridor for the ruble would allow Russians to exchange rubles for dollars in Uzbekistan, and it seemed to be covering the damage to western sanctions to Russia by Uzbek som.

Soon after, the Central Bank noted that the ruble corridor was not for Russians but for Uzbek migrants working in Russia, so that their earned money would not devalue too much.
