Cargo transportation between the Uzbek-Afghan railways has been restored. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It is noted that between 8-10 February of this year, a meeting was held with the Afghan delegation headed by Baiturrahman Sharofat, the head of the Afghan Railways Department.
As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to sign a new contract between the Afghan Railway Administration and "Sogdiana Trans" SHK on the future continuation of the operation of the "Hayraton-Mazari-Sharif" railway.
At the same time, according to the agreement of the parties, the delivery of wagons directed to Afghanistan by "Sogdiana Trans" Joint Stock Company of "Uzbekistan Railways" to Khairaton station was resumed from 10 February of this year.
At the end of the negotiations, a protocol was signed on the agreements reached.
