An explosion of a gas-air mixture occurred this morning, December 5, in the Urta Chirchik district of Tashkent region, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The incident took place at 07:46 in the administrative and business building of a production enterprise located on Qutb Yulduzi Street, "Kim Pen Khva" neighborhood. Although no fire broke out following the explosion, the flash resulted in the death of one person and injuries to six others, who were subsequently hospitalized.

"Major General A.Kh. Kuldoshev, the Minister of Emergency Situations, promptly arrived at the scene to oversee the response efforts. Teams from the regional DES, district administration, Prosecutor's Office, Internal Affairs Department, Ministry of Health, and "Hududgazta'minoti" leadership also joined the emergency operations," the report stated.

Fire and rescue teams are actively working at the site while a preliminary investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident.

This event recalls a similar tragedy earlier this year when a fire broke out on October 7 at a liquefied gas-filling station in the Karshi district of the Kashkadarya region.
