Haticha Musoevna Jafarova, who held high-ranking positions in the private banking and finance sector in Uzbekistan from 2011 to 2013, was arrested in Turkey and deported to Uzbekistan, according to a report by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.

Jafarova, born in 1951, was apprehended earlier this year during a joint operation conducted by the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Turkey and Uzbekistan. She had been wanted since 2014 on charges including organizing a criminal association, money laundering, embezzlement, fraud, and engaging in fake business operations.

Her deportation to Uzbekistan was overseen by representatives of the General Consulate. In its statement, the consulate urged any citizens affected by Jafarova's actions to reach out to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan or its associated agencies.

It is worth noting that earlier, Dilafruz Madieva, who had been wanted since 2022 on fraud charges, was also apprehended in Turkey and deported to Uzbekistan. The 48-year-old was similarly extradited following her arrest.
