'Life is more important than speed' bus kills pedestrian in Samarkand

On December 18, a pedestrian died in a traffic accident involving a bus in the city of Samarkand, Samarkand region. This was reported by the regional Department of Internal Affairs.

According to the report, the incident occurred at 07:30 on Narpay Road in Samarkand. A bus driver hit a pedestrian who was crossing an unmarked section of the road, moving from right to left. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian died at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.

The Investigation Department under the Federal Board of Internal Affairs for the city of Samarkand has initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code (Violation of the Rules for the Safety of the Movement or Use of Vehicles). Preliminary investigative actions are currently underway.
