The author of the poem “If I die, let a nightingale read my funeral” has passed away

Bibisora Turobova, a well-known poet and member of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, passed away today, September 15, at the age of 72. This was reported by the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan.

Bibisora Turobova was born on September 1, 1952, in the Khatirchi district of the Samarkand (now Navoi) region. After high school, she studied at the Technical College of Pre-School Education and later at the Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute.

Turobova held various notable positions during her career, including deputy governor of the Samarkand region and director of an orphanage.

In the 1990s, she became a member of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan and published around 10 poetry books. Among her most notable works are the poetry collections Kelinsalom and The Joy I’m Looking For, which received significant attention. Her poem If I Die, Let a Nightingale Read My Funeral is especially well-known.

Today, at 12:20, the deceased will be taken from the 19th field yard of the Dormon Creative House. The funeral prayer will be held at noon at the Dorman mosque.

As a reminder, People's Artist of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Karakalpakstan Bobomurod Hamdamov passed away earlier at the age of 84.
