Three Uzbek evacuees from Ukraine are involved in a car accident- a victim is reported

Three Uzbeks evacuated from Ukraine were involved in a car accident on the polish border.  One of them passed away. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Ukraine, Alisher Kurmanov, reported this on his social network page.

It is noted that three citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan: Hakimov Otabek (born in 2001), Khusainov Behzod (born in 2001) and Salokhiddinov Sherzod (Born 2001) were involved in a car accident at the entrance to the border checkpoint of Poland.

As a result of the accident, Otabek Hakimov died at the scene. The two other citizens were taken to the city hospital in Lviv, Ukraine.

According to Alisher Kurmanov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Ukraine, the Uzbek embassy in Kiev immediately sent a qualified doctor, a member of the Embassy’s volunteer team, Temurbek Yusupov, to Lviv. He is expected to arrive in Lviv on 5 March.
"Expressing our condolences to Otabek Hakimov’s family, we assure all the relatives and acquaintances of the injured, that the Embassy will make every effort to save their lives, including providing medicines and consulting with leading Ukrainian doctors,”-the report says.

It was noted that the Embassy would make efforts to send Hakimov’s body back to his home country as soon as possible.

«At the same time, we ask you to understand that the resolution of this issue is complicated by the ongoing military actions and mass evacuations in the country», – the representative of the Uzbekistan Embassy in Ukraine said.
