Turkmenistan is gradually resuming gas exports to Uzbekistan.  The press secretary of “Uztransgaz” Joint Stock Company Talibjon Rahmatov informed KALAMPIR.UZ about this.

It is noted that since 21 January f this year, Turkmenistan has supplied 4.8 million cubic meters of gas to Uzbekistan.  Today, this indicator has reached 12.6 million cubic meters.

“Gradually, the daily delivery volume will increase to 16 million cubic meters,” says Talibjon Rahmatov.

We remind you that due to technical reasons caused by the cold weather, Turkmenistan stopped supplying gas to Uzbekistan on 12 January of this year.

According to information received from various sources, the reason for the interruption of gas supply was the formation of hydrate in the field connections of the “Galkinish” gas condensate field.  According to experts, this happens in extreme cold and is explained as a force majeure situation.
