President of Turkmenistan also arrived in Samarkand

Today 15 September, at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as an honorary guest.  This was reported by the press service of the president.

It is noted that the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and other officials welcomed the high-ranking guest at the international airport.

According to the information, Serdar Berdimuhamedov will visit the Khazrat Khizr complex and honor the memory of the first President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov.

It should be recalled that between 15-16 September, the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The SCO Summit will be attended by the heads of State and government of Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Iran, Mongolia, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.

President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, President of Tajikistan Imamali Rahmon have already arrived in Samarkand. 

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he would not participate in the summit due to the armed conflict on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.
