Uzbekistan mahalla and Shavkat Mirziyoyev boulevard opened in Türkiye

A solemn opening ceremony was held in Arsuz district, Hatay province, Türkiye, for the Uzbekistan mahalla, established on the basis of a residential complex built by Uzbekistan, as well as Shavkat Mirziyoyev boulevard and Tashkent and Samarkand streets. The Dunyo news agency reported this.
The ceremony was attended by an Uzbek delegation led by Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Nuriddin Ismoilov, Khorezm region Governor Jorabek Rakhimov, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş, Hatay Governor Mustafa Masatli and public representatives.
Speaking at the event, Numan Kurtulmuş emphasized that the initiative was a symbol of the Turkish people’s sincere gratitude to the Uzbek people and the strong friendship between the two brotherly nations.
According to him, immortalizing the names of Uzbekistan’s historic cities and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Arsuz is an expression of high respect for the Uzbek people, who stood with Türkiye during difficult days.
Hatay Governor Mustafa Masatli said the practical assistance provided by Uzbekistan after the devastating earthquake of February 6, 2023, would always remain in the memory of the Turkish people. He noted that naming the area the Uzbekistan mahalla is a vivid symbol of brotherhood, solidarity and unity between the two nations.
At the end of the event, participants cut a symbolic ribbon and officially opened Shavkat Mirziyoyev boulevard, as well as Tashkent and Samarkand streets.
Earlier, a new mosque built with the participation of the Uzbek side was commissioned in Türkiye’s Hatay province. The mosque was named Bukhara as a symbol of gratitude for the Uzbek people’s selfless assistance and solidarity during one of Türkiye’s difficult periods.
