Tokayev congratulated Mirziyoyev on the success of the referendum

During a phone conversation on 1st of May, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan discussed the progress of major cooperation projects and the implementation of high level agreements.  The Presidential Press Service reported that at the beginning of the conversation.

President Tokayev congratulated President Mirziyoyev on the successful holding of the referendum on amendments to the Constitution of Uzbekistan that took place on the 30th of April.

President Mirziyoyev reciprocated the congratualtions and sincerely wished the leader of Kazakhstan and its people a happy Solidarity Day.

During their dialogue, the leaders paid special attention to the implementation of decisions made by the heads of state, especially regarding the preparation and implementation of cooperation programs in the priority sectors.  The governments were instructed to take measures to accelerate joint projects during the upcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Tashkent scheduled for later this week.

Additionally, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discussed plans for future events.
