7680President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has suggested converting large markets in Tashkent into multi-storey structures during an extraordinary session of the Tashkent City Council of People's Deputies.
In the session, the President emphasized the necessity of fostering industrial and commercial growth by vertically expanding existing infrastructure due to limited land availability.
Specifically, discussions revolved around options such as expanding large markets floor by floor and reconstructing buildings in the small industrial zone of Yunusobod to accommodate 3-4 floors.
The Cabinet of Ministers has been assigned the responsibility of approving a program aimed at identifying underutilized state properties and replacing them with projects that generate high-income employment opportunities in industry and services.
Previously, Mirziyoyev proposed allocating old buildings of eight state offices on Amir Temur avenue in Tashkent to entrepreneurs for the purpose of renovating and constructing commercial establishments, offices, and hotels with complimentary parking facilities.
