4243A fire incident occurred in Tashkent when a resident smoked in bed, resulting in the individual's death, according to the Tashkent Department of Emergency Situations.
At 02:13 on October 31, emergency services received a report of a fire in an apartment on Chinabad neighborhood's 30-berk Street in the Almazor district.
Fire crews responded promptly and managed to control the flames.
The fire damaged around 10 square meters of the apartment’s interior. Sadly, the apartment’s occupant, a 1950-born man who had been bedridden due to a stroke, passed away in the incident.
Family members stated he had been under their care for several years.
Preliminary findings suggest that the fire was sparked by smoking in bed.
Investigations are underway to confirm the cause and assess the material damage.
This incident follows a recent fire on October 29 in Samarkand, where a blaze in a shop caused significant damage to its ceiling, roof, and merchandise.
