Individuals who organized a drug laboratory in an apartment in the Sergeli district of Tashkent have been detained, the State Security Service reported.

According to the report, a person born in 2003 and residing in Chinaz district of Tashkent region rented an apartment in a multi-storey building and set up a drug lab. During an оперативe operation, authorities seized 3.5 kilograms of the potent substance “Pregabalin,” with a total estimated value of 4.5 billion soums, as well as 20 liters of liquid and 25 kilograms of powdered precursors. Equipment used for the production and packaging of the substances was also confiscated as evidence.

In addition, another resident of Chinaz district who worked as a chemist in the laboratory was also detained.

It was established that the individuals had initially been involved in distributing potent pharmaceutical substances as “stash operators” (“kladmen”) through a drug shop operating on the Telegram messenger.

Later, after gaining the trust of the leaders of the criminal group, they were recruited to directly produce the narcotic substances.

A criminal case has been opened against them by the Investigation Department of the State Security Service for Tashkent region, and a preventive measure of detention has been applied. Investigative actions are currently ongoing.

Earlier, a 26-year-old individual in Navoi region was found to have set up a drug laboratory in his home.
