Teacher who “taped” a child to a chair in Tashkent kindergarten punished

A video message about children being “taped” for not eating at a private kindergarten in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent has circulated on social media. The Tashkent City Department of Preschool and School Education has commented on the incident.  

It was reported that on February 21, 2025, at the "First Daycare" private preschool educational institution in Yunusabad, teacher S.A. and teacher’s assistant H.M. taped one of the children to a chair for refusing to eat.  

Following the incident, the administration of the institution terminated the employment contracts of teacher S.A. and assistant H.M., dismissing them from their positions.  

Law enforcement agencies are currently conducting an investigation into the matter.  

Earlier, a similar case was reported in a kindergarten in Sardoba district, Syrdarya region, where a practitioner stabbed a six-year-old boy and threatened him. As a result, the student practitioner was fined 375,000 sums, equivalent to one basic calculation amount.
