Mercenary raiders were apprehended in Tashkent

Individuals involved in the crime of invasion were apprehended in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent city, as reported by the city's General Department of Internal Affairs.

According to the report, on August 10, 2024, at approximately 21:00, the district's Department of Internal Affairs received information about an invasion crime in the Jarboshi neighborhood. Two assailants assaulted two victims in a secluded area of the neighborhood, stealing an iPhone, 5.5 million soums, $700 USD, and 950 thousand soums in cash before fleeing the scene. Both suspects were later arrested and handed over to the investigation team.

"My brother received a message online indicating that a man was poisoning people with drugs. We went to the location provided, using the abandoned passport information and address, where we assaulted them and took their phone and money. We sold the phone for a small amount. We couldn't catch the second accomplice; he escaped. We regret our actions," the suspects stated.

It was discovered that these two individuals had been promised $300 in exchange for assaulting the victims. After completing the task, they were supposed to record a video of the incident and send it to the client.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 164 (Invasion), Part 2, Clause "b" of the Criminal Code, and the suspects have been placed in pre-trial detention. The investigation is ongoing.

If a weapon or an object that can be used as a weapon is involved, or if the crime is premeditated by a group of individuals or involves the theft of a significant amount of property, the sentence ranges from 8 to 10 years. If committed by a repeat offender, a person previously convicted under Article 242 of this Code, or if the crime involves a large amount of property, illegal entry into a home, warehouse, or other building, and results in serious bodily harm, the sentence ranges from 10 to 15 years. If the crime is committed by an organized group or for its benefit, the sentence ranges from 15 to 20 years of imprisonment.

It should be noted that an individual who had been evading an investigation was arrested earlier in Khorezm.
