Authorities in Tashkent have uncovered a secret drug laboratory and seized more than 23 kilograms of highly potent drugs, according to a report by UzA.

The discovery was made in a rented apartment in the Yunusobod district of Tashkent city. A special task force conducted a search in the presence of witnesses and found that the suspect had set up a clandestine lab for producing highly potent drugs.

Further investigations revealed that similar operations were taking place in apartments in the Uchtepa district and the Tashkent district of the Tashkent region. The authorities confiscated large quantities of potent drugs, including 19 kg 225 g of "pregabalin," 2 kg 960 g of "tropicamide," and 1.2 kg of "trilon." They also seized 20 liters of hydrochloric acid, 1,746 pieces of laboratory equipment, and various supplies used in the production and distribution of drugs.

In addition to the drugs, the apartments contained laboratory equipment such as scales, flasks, mixers, and empty plastic containers meant for storing the substances.

This incident follows a similar case last month when two individuals were detained in the Tashkent region for running a drug laboratory. In February, a joint operation called "Safe Zone," conducted by the Tashkent regional police and the State Security Service, led to the detention of an individual storing strong psychoactive drugs worth 1 billion sums.
