An International University of Turkic States will be established in Tashkent, following a resolution adopted by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on January 25.

The university's primary focus will be on the following key areas:

- Training highly qualified personnel in fields such as engineering, construction, logistics, information technologies and programming, healthcare, agriculture, the food industry, and the economic and social sectors, in line with international standards.
- Implementing educational programs in collaboration with leading foreign universities, including those in Turkey, and conducting scientific research through joint educational initiatives.

The university will operate as a non-governmental higher education institution and will adhere to the legislative framework of Uzbekistan's education sector.

Beginning with the 2025/2026 academic year, the university will offer programs based on curricula from Turkish higher education institutions ranked among the top 1000 worldwide, recognized for their excellence in various fields.

Additionally, student training at the university will be conducted on a fee-contract basis, with the admission parameters and contract fees determined by the institution. A management board will be established to oversee and coordinate the university's activities.
