An unknown person molested a 17-year-old girl in Tashkent

A video showing an unknown man throwing himself at a girl returning from school in the Mirabad district of Tashkent was circulated on social networks.  Hayat Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the Prosecutor General’s Office, informed QALAMPIR.UZ about the situation.

Yesterday, on 19 April at 12:49 p.m., minor B.Z was coming back from extra classes when an unknown person came up behind her and proceeded to grope her on Inoqabad street, Mirabad district.  The culprit then ran away from the scene and hid.

According to information, the female victim is currently studying in the 11th grade of the school.

It is said that the unknown person is a young man of Uzbek nationality, about 20-30 years old.

Currently, an application has been received from B.Z’s father, and measures are being taken to identify and search for the unknown citizen.  Investigations are also being carried out before the investigation.

It should be recalled that on 11 April of this year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a law on improving the system of reliable protection of the rights, freedoms and legal interests of women and children.  In it, a special administrative responsibility was established for insulting a person in public places, and a fine of up to 1.5 million soms or a prison sentence of up to 5 days were established for these actions.
