Individuals responsible for establishing a drug laboratory in two apartments in Tashkent have been apprehended. Husan Tangriev, spokesperson for the Customs Committee, reported this information.

It has been noted that during an inspection of the handbag of a passenger who crossed on foot through the "Dustlik" border customs post between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, it was initially stated that the bag contained laundry powder. However, it was later discovered that 11 packages, totaling 33 kg, contained Pregabalin, a potent drug. Additionally, a substance similar to Pregabalin was concealed.

Subsequent rapid search operations conducted around the "Oloy" market in Tashkent resulted in the arrest of two individuals who had received these powders.

Furthermore, it was revealed that secret laboratories for the preparation and packaging of potent drugs were set up in two houses in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent. These labs contained approximately 56.5 kilograms of powerful substances valued at about 2.1 billion soums, 90 units of "Tropikamid," 1,020 units of "Regapen" strong drugs, 15,000 empty capsules of "Regapen," 11,000 empty containers of "Tropikamid," and 24 pieces of laboratory equipment.

"Following these swift actions, a total of 7 billion 570 million soums worth of powerful drugs and precursors used in their production, as well as laboratory equipment, were seized as evidence. Currently, a criminal case has been initiated by the customs authorities in relation to this matter," the report states.

It is also worth noting that a Kyrgyz drug courier was previously arrested while transporting a large quantity of drugs to Uzbekistan.
