Miners detained for stealing electricity worth 2.1 billion sums in Tashkent

3351Miners in Tashkent have been detained for illegally using electricity valued at 2.1 billion sums. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
Ongoing measures are being taken to uncover cases of illegal use of fuel and energy resources.
Specifically, officials from "S.T." LLC, located in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent, along with others, installed 40 mining devices in a container owned by the company. They unlawfully consumed electricity worth 2.1 billion sums.
A criminal case has been initiated against the company's officials and others involved under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.
It is worth noting that, earlier, a mining farm was uncovered in the Ishtikhan district of Samarkand region, which had stolen 2 million kWh of electricity, valued at 1.8 billion sums.
