Five cars crash in Tashkent due to drunk driving incident

A 23-year-old intoxicated driver caused a multi-car collision involving five vehicles in Tashkent’s Yangihayot district, according to a report from the Tashkent City Traffic Safety Department.
The accident occurred on February 8 at 15:30 near the Index market on Yangi Sergeli Street. The collision involved:
- A Lacetti driven by B.Kh. (born in 2002)
- A Lacetti driven by S.M. (born in 1984)
- A BYD driven by B.K. (born in 1998)
- A Spark driven by A.E. (born in 2001)
- A BYD driven by I.M. (born in 1998)
According to authorities, the driver of the Lacetti, B.Kh., lost control of the steering wheel while intoxicated, resulting in a chain-reaction crash. A.E., the driver of the Spark, and F.U., a passenger born in 2000, sustained injuries and were provided medical assistance on-site.
The Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs is currently investigating the incident.
It is worth noting that on October 29, 2024, in Namangan’s Uychi district, a 19-year-old driver was sentenced to six years in prison for causing a fatal drunk driving accident that claimed three lives.
