Today, February 3, a cleaning lady tragically lost her life in a shopping center located in the Almazar district of Tashkent after being crushed by elevator stones. This information was confirmed by Hayot Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office, in response to a request from QALAMPIR.UZ.

According to reports, the accident occurred at 11:10 a.m. when a 45-year-old cleaning lady was cleaning the glass windows inside the elevator shaft. While she was standing in a corner of the shaft, the elevator doors closed and started moving upward, causing the counterweights (elevator stones) to descend. Tragically, these moving stones crushed the woman, leading to her immediate death.

An emergency investigation team promptly arrived at the scene. Authorities conducted a forensic examination, reviewed video recordings, and documented the circumstances of the accident.

A pre-investigation inquiry is currently underway to determine the exact causes of the incident and establish legal accountability.

It should be noted that yesterday, February 2, the body of a 23-year-old Uzbek worker was discovered at a construction site in the Leningrad Region of Russia.
