Counterfeit 71,200 US dollars were discovered in circulation within both Tashkent city and the surrounding region, as reported by the State Security Service.

Two individuals, aged 30 and 22 and residing in Tashkent, were apprehended after attempting to sell 18,800 fake US dollars for 141 million soums, valuing each counterfeit at 7,500 soums. Additionally, they were found in possession of an extra $9,500 in counterfeit bills.

In a separate incident, a resident of Oltiariq district, Fergana region, born in 1997, was apprehended while attempting to sell 20,000 fake US dollars for 14,000 genuine dollars, delivering only 12,000 authentic dollars to the buyer. Authorities also confiscated 400 counterfeit US dollars from his residence, revealing his prior conviction for human trafficking and current probation status.

During a swift operation, authorities inspected a Nexia car driven by an accomplice, discovering 10,500 counterfeit US dollars in the cabin. The driver, born in 2000 and also from Oltiariq district, had a previous conviction. This operation led to the processing of a total of 22,900 counterfeit US dollars.

In a separate operation within Tashkent district, two individuals from Andijan region, born in 1980 and 1999, were apprehended after attempting to sell 20,000 counterfeit US dollars for 8,000 genuine dollars, valuing each fake 100-dollar bill at 40 dollars.

Criminal cases have been initiated against all individuals involved.
