Man steals colleague’s car in Tashkent (video)

A man who stole the car of an acquaintance with whom he worked at the same workplace has been detained by law enforcement officers in Tashkent. The Tashkent Main Department of Internal Affairs reported this.

According to the report, information was received by the Rapid Response Center that a Chevrolet Cobalt had been stolen in the Uchtepa District. As a result of оператив investigative measures, the vehicle was located in the Chilonzor District. Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department under the Uchtepa District Internal Affairs Coordination Department detained a suspect identified as A. in connection with the crime. It was also established that while driving the stolen vehicle, the suspect was involved in a traffic accident and caused damage to the car.

“The car was parked in front of our workplace. He knew where the keys were and took advantage of the fact that I was asleep early in the morning to steal it. The car has been found. Thanks to all the officers,” the victim said.

It was reported that a criminal case has been opened under Article 267 of the Criminal Code (unlawful seizure of a vehicle), and a preventive measure of detention has been applied to the suspect.

It is worth noting that earlier, car wash workers in Tashkent stole a customer’s vehicle.
