"In the Almazor district of Tashkent, trees were cut down using a drill. Rasul Kusherboyev, the Adviser to the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, reported this incident.

It is worth noting that an entrepreneur intended to build in the Chiltagon (Takhtapul) neighborhood. However, local residents and environmentalists opposed the felling of trees in this area.

"When it became impossible to cut them down, the surrounding area was fenced off, and holes were drilled into the base of the trees, after which liquids were poured in to dry them out. This can be described as an act of aggression against the trees," said the former deputy.

It has been reported that a criminal case has been initiated by the prosecutor's office against those responsible for drying out the trees using a drill.

The estimated damage to nature caused by the drying of these trees amounts to 534 million soums.

An investigation is currently underway.

We would like to remind you that in a previous incident in Bukhara, a culprit who cut down four trees was penalized with a fine and required to plant 400 new trees."
