Bus travel time in Tashkent has been reduced from 25-30 minutes to 10-12 minutes.  This was reported by the Ministry of Transport.

It is noted that, based on the President’s order, in the last three days, urgent measures are being taken to eliminate problems in the public transport system in Tashkent.

In particular, on 16-17 December, 204 buses were brought to the capital and put on the route.  As a result, the interval time of buses on the route will be reduced from 25-30 minutes to 10-12 minutes.

34 out of 148 routes in the city have been identified as problematic.  After adding more than 200 additional buses to all routes, the problems with 17 routes were solved, but to fully meet the needs of the population, it is necessary to create 21 new bus routes.

1374 vehicles of 8 bus fleets of the capital were fully inspected, and 89 out of 259 buses in technical failure condition were repaired.

Also, in order to eliminate the shortage of drivers, a list of 2,425 persons with “D, E” category driver’s licenses was created, and more than 140 of them have been employed so far.

Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave an order to double the monthly salary of public transport drivers.
