97.7 million soms of utility bills levied from the population were looted in Tashkent

In Tashkent, financially responsible persons of a private housing company who embezzled 97.7 million soms collected from the population for utility payments were identified.  This is reported by the department for combating economic crimes under the General Prosecutor’s Office.

It is noted that the Sergeli district branch of the department under the General Prosecutor’s Office carried out a pre-investigative survey on the protection of the rights and interests of citizens.

According to this, it was revealed that financially responsible persons of the private housing company "A. B" which serves 6 multi-storey apartment blocks of the Segeli-5 avenue in the district, looted 97.7 million soms collected for utility payments from homeowners without lodging it in the bank.

A criminal case was initiated under article 167 (acquisition or plunder) of the criminal code and investigative actions are underway.
