Shoe thief worth 55 million sums caught in Tashkent

6561A 35-year-old man who stole shoes worth 55 million sums has been caught in Tashkent, the press service of the city's Main Department of Internal Affairs reported.
According to the report, between January and February of this year, an unidentified individual stole 275 pairs of women's shoes worth 55 million sums from the warehouse of a large shopping mall in the Chilanzor district. The shoes belonged to S.U., born in 2001.
As a result of investigative measures, the suspect, N.O., born in 1990, was identified and detained. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 169 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Theft).
"The investigation is ongoing. A precautionary measure in the form of detention has been applied to the suspect," the report stated.
Earlier, in Bukhara, a person was detained for stealing gold jewelry worth 23 million sums.
