Tashkent police seize combat and pneumatic weapons in special operation

During the complex special operational-preventive measures "Safe and Healthy Capital" held in Tashkent from January 15 to February 15 of this year, 1 combat weapon, 21 pneumatic weapons, 7 shotguns, and 14 pieces of ammunition were seized from illegal circulation. This was reported by the Main Department of Internal Affairs.

A total of 801 cases related to the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and strong-acting agents were identified by the special groups formed. 567 criminal cases were initiated, 158 administrative reports were issued, and 76 cases remain under pre-investigation inquiry.

As a result of the operational measures taken, the illegal circulation of a total of:

• 21 kilograms 818 grams of narcotic drugs;
• 28,790 strong-acting drugs;
• 26 kilograms of "pregabalin" drugs were stopped.

Additionally, 34 cases of distributors using the method of concealing narcotic drugs were identified, leading to the seizure of 9 kilograms 538 grams of illegal narcotic drugs, and 3,689 strong-acting drugs.

Operational search measures were carried out to identify and stop the activities of online stores engaged in the trade of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as their administrators and operators. A total of 1,323 narcograffiti featuring advertisements for such online stores were identified and eliminated.

Furthermore, 501 individuals who had resorted to drugs and strong-acting substances were hospitalized for treatment in specialized medical institutions.

As a result of the conducted operational search activities, a total of 488 crimes were exposed “on the trail of hot pursuit”, 160 wanted persons were detained, and 45 missing persons were identified and returned to their relatives.

Additionally, 2,181 citizens who were illegally carrying sharp objects were identified, and administrative reports were issued accordingly.

During the operational activities, 1 combat weapon (PM), 21 pneumatic weapons, 7 shotguns, and 14 pieces of ammunition were seized from illegal circulation. Criminal cases have been initiated in each case, and investigations are underway.

A total of 102,404 violations of traffic rules were identified, including:

• 9,807 gross violations;
• 366 cases of drunk driving;
• 83 traffic light violations.

We would like to remind you that earlier, the State Security Service detained 53 wanted persons with firearms. During large-scale operations, 269 criminal cases were initiated against 339 persons, and 119 persons were brought to administrative responsibility.
