Speed limit in Tashkent region reduced to 80 km/h to improve road safety

To prevent road traffic accidents, the speed limit for vehicles outside certain residential areas in Tashkent region has been reduced from 100 km/h to 80 km/h. This decision was announced in a decree issued on April 17, 2025, by the Tashkent regional governor under the title "On Reducing Vehicle Speed Limits Outside Certain Residential Areas of the Region."

The decree approved the proposal by the regional Road Traffic Safety Department to reduce the speed limit on 37 road sections located outside residential areas from 100 km/h to 80 km/h.

The Regional Main Department of Automobile Roads has been tasked with installing 3.24 "Maximum Speed Limit" road signs on public roads outside residential areas where the speed limit has been reduced. These installations must adhere to current requirements and be completed within five days.

The Road Traffic Safety Department has been assigned direct responsibility for ensuring compliance with the reduced speed limits on affected roads.

The new regulation applies to 37 specific road sections outside residential areas in the Tashkent region.

The decree comes into effect immediately upon issuance.
