Kindergarten children suffered food poisoning in the Tashkent region

7346On social networks, information was spread in the department of infectious diseases of the medical association of Kuyi Chirchik district of Tashkent region about the case of acute diarrhea among the pupils of preschool educational organization No. 8.
The sanitary-epidemiological peace and public health service of the Republic of Uzbekistan gave official information about the situation.
On 28 September this year, 23 pupils of preschool education organization No. 8 came to the infectious diseases department of the Lower Chirchik District Medical Association of Tashkent region with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and an increase in body temperature (37-39 degrees). and complained of throat pain. After examination by doctors, 15 of them were diagnosed with an acute respiratory infection. A primary diagnosis of "functional diarrhea" was made and they were admitted to the hospital. Eight children were allowed to go home in a satisfactory condition (their parents refused to admit them to the hospital) after medical first aid.
Sanitary-epidemiological tranquility and public health service, Republican Center for Scientific and Practical Medicine of Specialized Epidemiology, Microbiology, Infectious and Parasitic diseases to study the situation on the spot and provide practical assistance to local specialists in the treatment of patients and anti-epidemic measures experts were sent to lower Chirchik district of Tashkent region.
In the hospital, qualified medical services were provided to sick children, samples were taken for appropriate laboratory analysis. All patients whose condition improved after the procedures were allowed to go home until October 2.
According to the results of the analysis of samples taken from patients, Shigella dysenteriae sonnei bacteria were detected in 3 of them.
In Preschool Education Organizations, drinking and wastewater systems, kitchen equipment, air intake ventilation system, and toilets are not fully complied with sanitary and hygiene requirements.
In addition, 4 of the employees of the Preschool Education Organization have not passed a medical examination.
Bacteria belonging to the group Escherichia coli were detected in the samples taken from meals (daily samples) and food products, kitchen utensils, and surfaces in the Preschool Education Organization.
A letter has been sent to the Ministry of Preschool Education to eliminate identified deficiencies and prevent food poisoning among children of preschool education organizations in the future.
From 30 September 2022, the work of the 8th Ministry of Preschool Education was temporarily suspended until the deficiencies in its work were eliminated, and an administrative report was issued against the director of the Ministry of Preschool Education.
